A number of recent studies have shown that many adolescent pregnancies and their subsequent births are fathered by adult men. During this session, faculty will provide participants information regarding the short and long-term outcomes of a school-based curriculum designed to prevent adult-teen sexual relationships. Participants will be given the evaluation findings of a pre-post, and long-term post study conducted on 930 adolescents within 14 schools and school-based youth services programs located in New Jersey. Participants will be able to recognize and describe program components (i.e., knowledge, attitudes, self-efficacy) that improved in the post, and long-term post testing. At the conclusion of the session, participants will be able to: 1) List three changes in teen's knowledge of unhealthy factors adult-teen relationships; 2) List at least three changes in teen's attitudes toward adult-teen relationships; and 3) Describe specific "life-skills" needed to improve self-efficacy to communicate and problem solve with their peers about the pitfalls of adult-teen sexual relationships.
