Impact of AIDS on families in Africa

This presentation will focus on the impact of AIDS on families and communities in severely affected African countries. The presentation will provide information about coping strategies used by families and the effect AIDS has on traditional extended family relationships. The issue of orphans will be discussed. Possible measures which could be taken by governments, donors and NGO's will be reviewed and suggestions made as to how future interventions could be improved.
