Understanding African American Female Adolescents' HIV-Associated Risk and Protective Behaviors: Implications for Prevention

Background: African American adolescent females, particularly those living in the southern United States, are at increasing risk for HIV. Yet, there is a paucity of empirical data related to their social and behavioral risk factors. The purpose of this panel is to provide integrated presentations from a sample of African American adolescent females, a population at particularly high risk for HIV infection.
