Refugee and Immigrant Health Policy: History, Practice, and Challenges
This session brings together a distinguished panel of speakers who will review both historical and current health needs of and policies towards immigrants and refugees in the United States.
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of this session, the participant will be able to: 1) Describe the history of efforts to understand and address the health needs of immigrants and refugees in the United States. 2) Evaluate health care coverage options and health care policies for immigrants in the U.S. today. 3) Assess the current need for food stamps, Medicaid and other services among diverse immigrant populations.
