Community Collaboration in Environmental Exposure: An Essential Component of Environmental Health Practice
This session will discuss the value of partnering with community groups when implementing environmental health programs. Examples of community collaboration will be explored with regard to communicating environmental health risks, initiating research projects to address asthma, and addressing environmental justice issues. This session will illustrate the importance of community collaboration in ehancing environmental health practice and identify future courses of action to develop successful community partnerships.
Learning Objectives: 1. Define community collaboration and it's importance in improved environmental health. 2. Discuss methods to effectively engage community members in determining and communicating environmental health risks. 3.Identify methods to evaluate community collaboration. 3. Identify future courses of action to integrate community collaboration into environmental health practice.
