The Technology Theater is an environment for live presentations of information and computer technology applications for public health. It is a fully equiped meeting room with Internet access and LCD projection capability. The Technology Theater provides speakers with the following equipment:

All abstracts for possible presentation in this environment should be submitted to the Section, SPIG or Caucus with members who would be most interested in the topic. You should also indicate when you write your abstract that you wish that you are technology dependent and wish to present in the Technology Theater. The abstracts will be reviewed by content experts within the Section, SPIG, or Caucus. If enough abstracts are accepted to fill one Session, the Program Chair will schedule the Session with the Technology Center Director. If only a few abstracts are accepted by the Program Committee, the Technology Theater Manager will combine the abstracts for a cosponsored Session. The Technology Theater Manager will do her best to bring related talks together into one session. If you require an LCD projector AND Internet access or an LCD projector and specialized equipment such as a VHS/VCR player and large screen television, your paper may be referred to the Technology Center. Please note there are only a limited number of time slots that can be accommodated in the Technology Center. If your accepted abstract cannot be scheduled for presentation in the Technology Center, all costs for additional AV equipment will be the responsibility of the individual presenter. Please note that the cost of renting an LCD projector is approximately $300. (More equipment costs listed below). If you have specialized software that you would like to demonstrate, ask to be put in the Technology Theater. You may distribute shareware in the form of CDs for people to use at the annual meeting. Please let me know ahead of time if you need to load software. Similarly, if you have special equipment needs and are assigned to the Technology Theater, contact me as soon as you know so that I can ensure the equipment you need is available. Just as a reminder, do NOT send abstracts to the Technology Theater. Send them to your Section, SPIG or Caucus for scientific review. Indicate that you wish to present in the Technology Theater, however, if you wish to present there. Cost Information for Technology If you are not presenting in the Technology Theater and require additional technology for your presentation elsewhere in the meeting, there are costs associated.
