Health Law Forum

Submit Abstract

Health Law Forum panel sessions provide an opportunity for you to present your research, analysis and perceptions of public health law to APHA members. Presentations may focus on original research, the implications of recent court rulings, legislation or regulations, as well as proposals for changes in law. The topics listed below are intended as somewhat general categories for submission of abstracts. The final focus (and titles) of the panel sessions for the conference depends upon the abstracts that are received. With that in mind, please submit your abstract under the topic that is most relevant.
  • Bioterrorism and Emergency Preparedness
  • Human Rights and Public Health
  • Obesity Law and Policy
  • Patient Safety/Quality of Care/Professional Liability
  • Pharmaceutical Regulation
  • Public Insurance (Medicare, Medicaid, sCHIP, etc.) Law and Regulation
  • Research Law, Policy and Ethics
  • Vaccines and the Flu Pandemic
We highly recommend drafting the abstract and learning objectives offline in a word processor so you can edit them before pasting into the submission form. When submitting abstracts PLEASE take the time to be sure you have completed all the fields.

Keep in mind that:
· Abstracts are limited to 250 words
· Learning objectives must also be submitted, but separate from the descriptive abstract.
· The time allotment for presentations in our panels is usually 20-30 minutes.
· It may be helpful for reviewers and attendees if you identify any target audience.
· We must have: the name and contact information, including an email address for the presenter for automatic receipt of notices regarding your abstract and session.
· We need to know if you are a new presenter.
· We need to know what AV you require. PowerPoint support will be available, however, use of slides require rental fees for the AV equipment.
· You must respond to the question re: significant financial interests.
