Consequences of the war in Iraq for active duty military and veterans

The war in Iraq is being fought by a force which has different demographics than past conflicts in thathere is a much higher percentage of National Guard and Reserve troops. The morbidity and mortality statistics are also unique to this conflict as are the problems and needs of the returning troops. The session will present the most current information available at the time of the meeting.

Learning Objectives:

After attending this session the participant will

1.Be able to identify the unique risks faced by Gulf War participants
2.Identify the specific risks for the current Iraq war to regular military, national guard and reserve participants
3.Be aware of the effects on the health delivery system of the war in Iraq
