Global Perspectives: Macro-Level Screening and Surveillance To Improve Pregnancy Outcomes
Screening and surveillance are necessary steps to improving pregnancy outcomes. Globally, there are variations across localities, regions, and countries in their prenatal screening and surveillance policies and practices. Determinants of appropriate screening and referral should be evidence-based but local realities, such as insufficient resources, may dictate modifications in both policies and practice. There is much to be learned by studying successful adaptations to fit local realities as well as initiatives to improve screening and surveillance. This session, Global Perspectives: Macro-Level Screening and Surveillance to Improve Pregnancy Outcomes, seeks to highlight new research regarding screening and surveillance that may inform the decisions of policy makers and providers of care in order improve birth outcomes among diverse populations
Learning Objectives: 1. At the end of this session, the attendee will be able to identify at least three evidence-based screening and surveillance practices that are correlated with improved pregnancy outcomes. 2. At the end of this session, the attendee will be able to describe two initiatives to improve screening and surveillance. 3. At the end of this session, the attendee will be able to cite new research that may inform the implementation of successful adaptations of screening and/or surveillance to fit local realities.
