Rodney Lemery, MPH and Gary J. Burkholder, PhD. College of Social, Behavioral, and Health Sciences, Walden University, 155 Fifth Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55401, 612-338-7224, rlemery@waldenu.edu

The purpose of this presentation is to provide the audience with an introduction to the current conceptualizations of internalized homophobia and its measurements. This discussion will include an overview of the current state of internalized homophobia measurement tools and their limitations (from the author's perspectives).

With this foundation, the presentation will progress to an alternate conceptualization of internalized homophobia based on the author's categorization of the concept of Sexual Prejudice as defined by the works of Dr. Gregory Herek and others; referred to as Internalized Sexual Prejudice (ISP).
