How do state public health leaders answer the complex demands of the current public health climate? How do they address the need for a competent public health workforce, the need for information systems that provide complete, accurate, and timely data for decision making, and the need to assess and improve both agency and system performance? How do they look across their agencies to ensure that the services, people, and systems in place work together to positively impact the health status of the populations they serve? In this session, three public health leaders will describe successes and opportunities for integrating services, people, and systems. They will also highlight activities of the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials that support state efforts in these areas.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the session, audience members will be able to:
1. Recognize examples of successful implementation and integration of initiatives that address workforce, informatics, services, and performance standards.
2. Identify ASTHO initiatives to support the integration of services, people, and systems.
