The presenter will apply feminist research principles to the study of health and health care for incarcerated women. A review of several research projects will demonstrate the application of these principles and will examine the results of the research in terms of their contribution to understanding incarcerated women's health needs and to policy and practice change in prisons and/or jails. This presentation will be part of an entire session focused on the health of women in prison.

Learning Objectives:

• Understand 3 principles of feminist methodology
• Understand how feminist research methodology can be incorporated into a prison health research project
• Learn how feminist research practices can affect policy and practice change to improve health of prisoners.
