Uganda: Examples from the labor movement's response to the AIDS epidemic among long-distance transportation workers

Based on his background as the General Secretary of the Amalgamated Transport and General Workers' Union of Uganda and project coordinator of HIV/AIDS activities for long-distance transportation workers, Mr. Ojiambo-Ochieng will describe the workplace challenges the increase HIV/AIDS risk among long-distance transport workers and the experience of the local union, the international trade union federation, and the Solidarity Center in tackling HIV/AIDS along the transport corridors of East Africa.
