Using examples from the presenter's clinical research, this presentation will explore important issues involved in conducting clinically-based research with women prisoners, including subject recruitment, securing IRB approval, subject recruitment, informed consent, avoiding coercion, protecting subject confidentiality and strategies for overcoming institutional barriers to conducting research. Finally strategies for ensuring fidelity to research protocols will be presented
