Anne Belcher, DNS, School of Nursing, Indiana University, 1111 Middle Dr NU 461, Indianapolis, IN 46202, 317 274-4750, abelche@iupui.edu

The session will present the background and history of the Beverly C. Flynn Legacy Leadership Award sponsored by the APHA Public Health Nursing Section. The Flynn Legacy Leadership program recognizes graduate students majoring in public health/community health nursing and novice public health nurses for their potential to make contributions to public health nursing, and to the communities in which they live and work. Each award winner is partnered with a mentor prior to the annual APHA meeting and continues the relationship beyond the annual meeting into the next calendar year. Specific information related to application for the mentorship program will be provided along with evaluation data from the first two cohorts of participants in the program.
