Abstract #167015

Sources for the APHA history and highlights of The Association: Reflections on the import of the Association's History past and present

Elizabeth Fee, PhD, National Library of Medicine, History of Medicine Division, National Institutes of Health, 8600 Rockville Pike, Building 38, 1E21, Bethesda, MD 20894, 301-496-5406, feee@mail.nih.gov

There are rich sources of information on the Association and a growing body of multimedia material. Yet these sources are fragile if not gathered, preserved, and made accessible. The body of material provides the threads to the complete tapestry of the Association. And highlights both the past as mirrored in the present. The importance of members and groups contributing to the corpus of historic material is illustrated and emphasized.
