Improving Health Care through Integrative Approaches
This session focuses on mechanisms for and barriers to developing integrative approaches between chiropractors and other health care providers. Also discussed are barriers perceived by patients to accessing chiropractic care and inter-professional relationships.
Learning Objectives: •Elucidate the types of continuing research needed to clarify and enhance the role of chiropractic and conservative care in a military health care setting. •Describe the existing theories about the tension between the two professions of physical therapy and chiropractic and discuss potential solutions •Describe the characteristics of an interdisciplinary collaborative relationship in a hospital setting •Identify the behavioral barriers that exist in various patient populations to seeking chiropractic care.
