Design and Evaluation of Interventions for Specific Populations (e.g., runaway homeless youth, individuals with mental illness, substance abuse disorders)
This session addresses several key issues related to homeless youth and families. Presenters share ideas to provide effective outreach and intervention to meet the special needs of this population.
Learning Objectives: 1. Describe the possible impact of effective interventions on the foster care system as a contributor in the reduction of homelessness 2. Identify key risk factors that put youth living in shelters at risk for contracting HIV/AIDS,STI's and substance abuse 3. Describe characteristics and treatment needs of homeless mothers who enter treatment for substance abuse
