Priorities and Challenges in Conducting Research with Homeless Populations, Including Consumer Involvement
This session will address some of the issues associated with data collection, surveying homeless and the validity of self-report. In this session presenters will also discuss characteristics of urban homeless and the potential shift in demographics.
Learning Objectives: 1. Identify strategies for minimizing measurement error in the collection of health service use data 2. Describe a method for determining validity of self report data 3. Describe how persons who are homeless are recruited and trained to assiste with research and increases the comfort level of respondants 4. Discuss potential shifts in demographics of urban homelessness
