Community Partnerships I
The purpose of this session is to analyze a variety of models for community partnerships. The session includes papers that describe a statewide comprehensive cancer control plan; a partnership among academic departments and a state public health agency; a model for community partnerships to reduce hunger; and partnerships between PHNs and faith-based communities. The papers will provide important information for public health professionals in practice, education, and research.
Learning Objectives: 1. Describe the statewide comprehensive cancer control plan for a rural Midwestern state. 2. List the components of a successful partnership among academic departments and a state public health agency to achieve program outreach goals. 3. Describe a model for partnering in the community to bring positive change to the lives of individuals experiencing hunger. 4. Describe community partnership opportunities with public health nursing and a faith-based community.
