Health Disparities
These sessions discuss community based interventions for a variety of vulnerable populations at risk for health disparities. These include programs for African-American women, American Indian and Mexican-American adults. Innovative strategies for community practice are identified and models for culturally competent nursing practice discussed.
Learning Objectives: Discuss a variety of community interventions for multi-cultural clients. Describe innovative roles for nurses and community based workers. Identify educational tools and supports for delivery of culturally competent nursing care.
