| This session focuses on public health nursing education and includes innovations for nursing and patient education. Special attention is given to issues of cultural competence training, experiential learning, and educating nurses on brief interventions for tobacco use. | ||||
| Learning Objectives: 1. Describe methods of assessing cultural competence of faculty and nursing students 2. Identify the essential components for training nurses in the evidence-based, brief interventions for treating tobacco use and dependence 3. Describe components of a population-health focused continuing education series adapted for practicing public health nurses. | ||||
