| The Public Health Nursing Global Health session will address the nursing’ s role in policy and politics from a global health perspective; the importance of the Alma Ata Declaration in shaping global health and explore prospects and strategies for an Alma Ata revival in the next decade. Issues in global shortage of nurses and international migration of nurses will be identified and strategies and recommendation for policy makers will be discussed. | ||||
| Learning Objectives: 1. Identify nursing’ s role in policy and politics from a global health perspective. 2. Discuss the importance of the Alma Ata Declaration in shaping global health and strategies for an Alma Ata revival in the next decade. 3. Discuss major political/policy issues concerning international migration of nurses and develop recommendations for United States policy makers in reducing the reliance on foreign educated nurses. | ||||
