| This session brings together topics from the theoretical to the practical. Authors will be discussing details about traditional healing and cultural competence such as: 1) Explaining conceptual frameworks for conducting health traditions assessments and developing cultural competency; 2) Elucidating key dimensions of African-American spirituality as well as identifying five components of spirituality measures; 3) Describing standards for treating insomnia using Ayurvedic techniques such as Shirodhara (medicinal liquid flow) and other Sukhachikitsa (restorative therapies); 4) Articulating evidence-based efficacy of Tai Ji/Tai Chi in older adults.
