Workforce Education Models
This workshop will discuss two approaches to providing distance learning training, i.e., the Community Teams Program and the Health Policy Program. Additionally, discussions will focus on an interactive computer-based laboratory safety training program for high school and college students. Further, the workshop will include a normative training model for physician or business executives in which ethics, values, and meaning are stressed.
Learning Objectives: Participants should be able to: Describe two distinct approaches to distance education for the public health workforce. Describe how computer-based laboratory safety training can effectively deliver laboratory safety knowledge and skills in an interesting manner. Identify a stronger model for instituting ethics, values and meaning in medical academic settings, field research and health care administration and management.
