Women’s Health: In the Political Crossfire
Major women’s health issues have been in the crossfire of policies and politics. This panel will discuss some of the major issues women face in the United States and abroad. The session will highlight some of the key issues in women’s health tat are often impacted by political concerns that make it difficult to implement evidence-based science and best public health practices. Key topics to be addressed are those related to reproductive choices, new and emerging vaccines like the HPV vaccine, etc. These presentations will outline the key themes in the emerging issue area and propose key action steps of a public health agenda for the next decade for practitioners, policymakers and researchers in public health.
Learning Objectives: Key issues related to women’s health in the United States. Key issues related to reproductive health internationally. Key issues related to mandatory HPV vaccine Strategies for addressing major women’s health issues in the United States and globally.
