| Nutrition in Schools is a joint effort by Food and Nutrition & School Health and Education sections and addresses a national priority area—the childhood obesity epidemic, as recognized by numerous federal, state, local and industry organizations. The purpose of this session is to explore a variety of efforts to address obesity prevention through schools and discuss lessons learned across a variety of geographic and socio-demographic characteristics. Work presented during this session is relevant to school and health administrators, providers and researchers. | ||||
| Learning Objectives: Recognize the multiple efforts across states addressing childhood obesity through schools. Discuss various program models, intervention strategies and behavioral mediators impacting food and activity policy implementation and evaluation in schools. | ||||
