| The purpose of this session is to address nursing programs, practices, and policies that illustrate community partnerships. Topics include an intervention implemented by public health nurses/home visitors and schools of nursing; policies and practice of disaster nursing; and an innovative program to recruit underrepresented youth into nursing. The session will have relevance for public health nurses in research, practice, and education. | ||||
| Learning Objectives: 1. Describe a community-based empowerment intervention that is being implemented by public health nurses/home visitors in collaboration with university schools of nursing. 2. Describe the policies and practice standards of nurses in the context of disaster nursing. 3. Explore the strategies used in creating an innovative program to encourage underrepresented minority youth into the nursing profession. | ||||
