Community Approaches to Breastfeeding
Many community approaches to supporting and promoting breastfeeding have been implemented over the past 10 years. This session presents a current view of a number of approaches that have successfully been implemented and produced positive outcomes for breastfeeding mothers.
Learning Objectives: 1. Describe how the personal journeys of breastfeeding women have affected their breastfeeding outcomes. 2. Discuss three environmental factors that can easily be modified to promote sustained breastfeeding. 3. Identify four ways the availability of environmental supports for breastfeeding have positively affected breastfeeding outcomes.
