This session on a major cause of death worldwide highlights national trends in firearm violence, gun carrying among students in the U.S., and programs and policies to prevent firearm-related injury.
Learning Objectives: 1. Discuss outreach worker programs for preventing community gun violence. 2. Evaluate trends in firearm-related injuries and deaths. 3. Describe students’ impressions of gun carrying and implications for carrying prevention strategies. 4. Describe effectiveness of policies to enable firearm trafficking.
