Public Health Nursing Education III
This session will analyze various models and nursing education programs including those that: increase political awareness, build environmental initiatives; include community-based participatory models; promote life-long commitment to service; and analyze DNP core competencies as they relate to community/public health nursing. The session will have importance for public health nurses in clinical settings, educational institutions, and those conducting research.
Learning Objectives: 1.Identify methods to increase political awareness of public health nurses. 2.Discuss the process of building a faith-based environmental initiative with a school of nursing 3.Identify advantages for faculty members in involving nursing students in Community-Based Participatory Model projects. 4.Describe a model for community health that promotes a life-long commitment to service by engaging students as working volunteer members of community organizations. 5.Analyze the core competencies in DNP education in relation to community/public health nursing.
