5054.0 A Perfect Storm: Responding to Global Warming

Wednesday, November 7, 2007: 8:30 AM
Oral
This is a 90 minute participatory session. After a 10 minute presentation on the problem, we will break up into interest groups for discussion. After 40 minutes those groups will reconvene as a plenary. We will then take the rest of the time to pass the microphone around the room to explore action steps in the areas of air and water pollution, human habitation, food and water supply, human health, justice and equity, decision-making, climate refugees, politics and public policy formulation. Recommendations from this session will be collected and distributed to participants by e-mail so that they can stay in touch and keep discussing potential solutions to the problems from a Public Health perspective. This session should serve as a touchstone for action by the Public Health community.
