While many state Medicaid dental programs have remained stagnant and ineffective in assuring access for low-income children, a few states have instituted remarkable reforms that have increased both dentist participation and dental access for child beneficiaries. During this presentation the speakers will describe the current status of the dental Medicaid program, present initiatives states undertook to improve access and discuss future directions for reform.
Session Objectives: Participants will be able to: 1. Learn about the current status of the dental Medicaid program 2. Describe Successful State Medicaid Dental Reforms 3. Discuss future efforts to advance the State Medicaid Programs.
