Chiropractic college educators frequently discuss the concepts of "wellness" and often "prevention." Public health has much to offer in these areas. Public health is a key area for chiropractors to work in an interdisciplinary way - and it is likely that engaging chiropractic students early and frequently here may be important in developing the skills and relationships to do this. This presentation covers the background work involved in establishing a public health club at a chiropractic college, early successes and challenges of the club, and some ideas that have worked at increasing the public health extra-curricular involvement of students. A public health club was started at New York Chiropractic College, and the starting, operation, and activities of this club will be discussed. Lessons from this club will hopefully be of use to other educators who may be contemplating initiating such a club at other chiropractic colleges.

Learning Objectives:
1) List the steps involved in establishing a public health club at a chiropractic college campus 2) Discuss the challenges of involving students in public health extra-curricular activities 3) Identify early successes and challenges with the club
