Biographical Sketch:
Sarah H Ailey is an Associate Professor in the Department of Community, Systems and Mental Health Nursing at Rush University. She is the co-chair, along with Robyn Hart of the Rush Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Committee. Besides research, teaching and writing on the health issues of individuals with IDD, she recently had her play about a group of individuals with IDD struggles to achieve their dreams read during Diversity Week at Rush. Robyn Hart, M.Ed., CCLS has served as the Child Life Program Director at Rush University Medical Center for 21 years. Her first book, Therapeutic Play Activities for Hospitalized Children received Book of the Year Awards from both the American Journal of Nursing and Pediatric Nursing and her second is currently in print. She is a charter member of the Boards of Directors of Snow City Arts and Open Heart Magic, both organizations serving the psyhosocial needs of hospitalized children. Along with Ms. Ailey, she also co-chairs a multi-agency team dedicated to improving the healthcare experiences of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
