Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Benjamin Cook is a Senior Researcher at the Center for Multicultural Mental Health Research and Instructor at the Harvard Medical School Department of Psychiatry. Benjamin received a Ph.D. in Health Policy at Harvard University and an MPH from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill Department of Health Behavior and Health Education. Ben has been involved in research, with R03 and R01 funding from NIMH, improving the methodology of measuring racial/ethnic health care disparities and identifying policies with the potential to reduce these disparities. Ben is conducting numerous research projects related to racial and ethnic healthcare disparities, including assessing the relationship between geographic and racial/ethnic disparities, tracking disparity trends in children’s mental health care and racial/ethnic disparities in substance abuse treatment.
