Biographical Sketch:
Molly M. Eggleston is the Executive Director for the National Board of Public Health Examiners (NBPHE). As such, she is responsible for the day-to-day development, preparation, administration, and evaluation of the world’s first and only voluntary core certification exam in public health. Her contributions to public health workforce development include creating, coordinating and facilitating trainings, conferences, and programs on the state and national level. She has managed grants and contracts to provide continuing education for physicians, nurses, health educators, environmental health specialists, and other health professions. Prior to joining NBPHE, Eggleston served as the inaugural Deputy Executive Director to the NBPHE, and as an Associate Director for Service and Outreach and Associate Director for Workforce Development at the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health Center for Public Health Practice. Eggleston also served as Treasurer and Board member of the Pennsylvania Public Health Association and a member of the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing marketing committee. She has presented at the annual conferences of the National Association of City and County Health Officials, the American Public Health Association and its PA affiliate, and the Society for Public Health Education and its PA affiliate. Eggleston has been published in the Journal for Public Health Management and Practice. She is a member of the Charter Class of Certified in Public Health, as well as a Certified Health Education Specialist. Eggleston holds an MPH from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Elaine Morrato is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Systems, Management & Policy in the Colorado School of Public Health and Assistant Director for the Children’s Outcomes Research Program at The Children’s Hospital. She received her masters degree in Public Health and Doctor of Public Health in Epidemiology from Johns Hopkins University. Previously, she was a manager in the pharmaceutical industry for 15 years where she had responsibility for leading prescription and over-the-counter drug development programs. Her experience encompasses the US, Canadian, and European health care systems and covers a variety of therapeutic categories, including cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and periodontal diseases. Dr. Morrato completed her Fellowship in Pharmaceutical Outcomes Research at the University of Colorado Denver, School of Pharmacy. Her research interests include promoting the diffusion of drug warnings and other medical evidence. She is currently a member of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Drug Safety and Risk Management Advisory Committee and has a career development award from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality on “Accelerating the Diffusion of Comparative Effectiveness Evidence into Clinical Practice”.
