This year the Statistics Section celebrates its 100th Year Anniversary. The 100th Year Anniversary Committee includes Marcia Testa (Chair), James Leeper, Janet Eyster, Amy Ferketich, Larry Moulton, Carol Redmond, Dedun Ingram and William Pan. 100th-year special events include:

100th Year Anniversary Booth – Exhibition Hall: Includes a mix and mingle area where statistical and probability games will be played and 100th year Anniversary prizes will be awarded to the winners. A milestone banner will outline the accomplishments of statistics to the field of public health beginning with the first official 1908 year of the APHA Statistics Section which was founded by Dr. Cressie L. Wilbur.

100th Year Anniversary Tuesday Evening Celebration: The APHA Statistics Section 100th Anniversary Celebration will be held 6:30PM – 10:30PM on Tuesday evening, October 28, 2008, San Diego, CA Convention Center. The tentative program currently includes: Reception, brief business meeting, special recognition of members, history of the statistics section, buffet dinner, dessert, music and celebrations! Session Objectives: Become informed about the 100th-year history and accomplishments of the APHA Statistics Section. Learn how to contribute to the scientific and social accomplishments of the section as either a new or long-time member.
