Understanding and participation in policy discussions is a first step in enhancing nurses'roles as policy advocates to help shape the nation's health care agenda. Successful models for influencing policy, regulations and/or legislation will be explored.
Session Objectives: List three teaching/learning strategies for helping public health nurses become politically astute in helping shape the nation's health care agenda. Discuss the role of research in public health policymaking.
