CALL FOR ABSTRACTS — 138th APHA Annual Meeting (November 6-10, 2010)

American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian Caucus

Submit Abstract

American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian (AIANNH) Caucus (Est. 1981) promotes equal opportunity and access for Indigenous peoples of North America and the Hawaiian Islands to health care, provides a supportive entry into APHA and disseminates information about major Native health issues and programs. The Caucus also works with APHA to promote policy beneficial to Native health needs to assure quality care and equal access. The Caucus invites abstracts for papers on general topics addressing Native populations, Emerging Issues, Access to Care, Best Policies and Practices as well as papers that specifically address (but are not limited to) the following:
  • Climate change/environmental issues and Indigenous people
  • Community-based participatory research and community-led projects
  • Human Rights and Indigenous people
  • Local, tribal, state and national policy
All abstracts must be submitted by February 9, 2010 and follow the general APHA guidelines for submission. Submissions that do not comply will be returned to the sender without review. The Caucus welcomes abstracts from students and the author should note such.

A discussion session by several (no more than five) speakers on a general topic may be coordinated by a single applicant. Each speaker for the discussion session must submit an abstract on his or her individual topic, following the APHA web site's guidelines. Use the "Comments to Organizer" box to convey your request as well as listing the abstract ID numbers for each speaker. Follow up with an email to the Program Planners with a session overview.
