Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I have been conducting state-of-the-science research on the epidemiology, clinical course, and treatment of alcohol and other substance use and associated disorders for over 25 years. My recent research activities have included trials of pharmacological and psychosocial addiction treatments, with a specific focus on therapies to treat substance use disorders co-occurring with depression, posttraumatic stress disorder and other anxiety disorders, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. I have also been involved in high-risk studies of the psychiatric and neurodevelopmental characteristics at school age of offspring of methadone-maintained, opioid-dependent parents.
