This session includes many important topics related to nursing home health care utilization and costs. The following issues will be discussed: informal dispute resolution process for nursing homes’ appeals of deficiency citations, costs of quality regulations in nursing homes, racial inequity in receiving flu vaccination among nursing home residents, facility characteristics and the risk of developing pressure ulcer in U.S. nursing homes, and relationships among patient safety culture, processes of care, and resident falls in nursing homes.
Session Objectives: 1. Discuss the informal dispute resolution process for nursing homes. 2.Describe the relationship between patient safety culture, processes of care, and resident outcomes in nursing homes.
