In addition to the well-established negative physical health impacts of tobacco use, there are sociological and psychological impacts that can be debilitating. This session will examine the associations and/or impact of tobacco use on marriage, post-partum depression, adolescent mental health, and other mental health disorders. Interventions to reverse these negative impacts will also be discussed.
Session Objectives: Discuss the associations between tobacco use and adverse mental health effects. Describe interventions to deal with the mental health impact of tobacco use.
