This interesting session will cover several important topics in the area of pediatric and adolescent health epidemilogy. Specific talks include: autism spectrum disorder co-occurring conditions and change of autism spectrum disorder diagnosis; prevalence of autism spectrum disorders in children: A review of international population-based studies using DSM-IV or ICD-10 criteria; unintentional injury in early childhood and its relationship with childcare setting; local geographic variation in asthma prevalence among school children; and, substance use and school victimization among California youth.
Session Objectives: At the conclusion of this session, the learner (attendee) will be able to: 1. Describe autism spectrum disorder co-occurring conditions and change of autism spectrum disorder diagnosis; 2. Discuss the prevalence of autism spectrum disorders in children; articulate the experience of unintentional injury in early childhood and its relationship with childcare setting; 3. Understand local geographic variation in asthma prevalence among school children; 4. Describe substance use and school victimization among California youth.
