Wendy Millis , Public Health, Shasta County Health and Human Services, Redding, CA
This is a film about real people and their very real tragedies. Each year in Shasta County, California, nearly 300 people are injured or killed in a DUI-related crash. Everyone suffers when someone makes the choice to drive under the influence. In this film you hear from different families who have all experienced tragedy because someone made a choice to drive under the influence. Shasta County victims, their families and a convicted DUI offender share personal accounts of the moment that changed their lives forever. Each family member tells a personal, heart-wrenching story about his or her experience. By showing the audience local sights and local people, the audience builds an emotional connection to what they are seeing. All of these real tragedies occurred in Shasta County but they could have been anyone's friend, family or neighbor.
