Recent federal legislation has changed the face of health care and health care delivery. The federal mandate for individuals to have qualifying health coverage is important to school based health clinics because some parents do not seek out coverage for their children even if it is available at little of no cost and studies have shown that children of uninsured parents are less likely to use health services even when the children have health coverage.
