Public Health stands to benefit greatly from the healthcare industry's movement to automate clinical information and develop interoperability to share personal health information across the healthcare ecosystem. This presentation will explore the vision for NC Public Health and a few of the early successes.

Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I have been the North Carolina Health Information Technology (HIT) Coordinator since May 2010. Prior to that, I completed 27 years in both state and local public health as the Deputy State Health Director. As the NC HIT Coordinator, I monitor over $1 billion in state and federal funds coming to North Carolina to advance HIT.
