The Flowing Wells Family Health Center represents a groundbreaking partnership between the private and public health sectors. The establishment of the center in August 2000, culminated 30 months of collaborative work between the Pima County Health Department, Community HealthWorks, Inc., the Flowing Wells community, other public sector and private businesses and non-profit organizations. The center addresses the core public health function of assuring accessible health care. At the end of this program, participants should be able to:

- Describe how the center establishes a link between public health, private non-profit entities, hospitals, community health centers, local businesses and other public and private agencies to address the community health needs of this community.

- Explain how the center provides convenient services in an area of great need and limited resources.

- Identify how the center provides a benefit to the community without causing a major financial drain on any one entity.

- Understand how the center provides an excellent service environment for clients and staff.

- Describe how the center has established a precedent and template for future public and private sector health in other needed areas of the community.
