Smoke-free homes campaign: national council of la raza and US environmental protection agency outreach to the latino community

The National Council of La Raza (NCLR) and US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have been collaborating for several years on a project to reach the Latino community with information on environmental tobacco smoke. The work is done primarily thru the Smoke-free Homes Campaign. This presentation will describe the evolution of the campaign and strategies taken to reach Latino communities with health related messages on environmental tobacco smoke. The presentation will also discuss incentives to take action and barriers/solutions encountered.

Learning Objectives: Participants will learn about and have the opportunity to discuss outreach campaigns and strategies to reach the Latino community. The participants will also become familiar with incentives, barriers and solutions encountered.
