Reactive chemicals - a trade union perspective on regulatory and other needs to address a major deficiency in the PSM and RMP rules

This presentation will discuss the deficiencies and needs in the regulation of reactive chemical hazards, looking at the historical problem, how these hazards are addressed in other countries and the role workers and unions can play and have played in identifying and solving these problems. The role the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board is playing in formulating solutions, including recommendations to other agencies, and the direction that labor would like to see OSHA and EPA take in preventing such disasters will also be addressed.
